Satellite Sorted!

I wanted to share with you a great little device I discovered recently. Like many caravanners these days I like to take my Sky receiver with me when on my travels, but lining up the dish with the satellite can be rather problematical at times. I have also witnessed others on site fiddling endlessly with their dishes trying to pick up a signal. Well here is a simple solution to the problem - a smartphone app called Satellite Director. Operation couldn't be simpler. On start up your location is calculated by GPS satellites. You then select the satellite you want to lock on to from a menu (it will work on any satellite, not just Sky). The final stage provides you with a compass which shows the satellite bearing. You simply line up the arm of your dish with the compass bearing, and job done! I have just used it for the first time and I picked up the signal immediately. No need to spend up to £10 for an unreliable signal meter, the app is FREE!. Give it a try.

    Ive got the said same app, what an easy piece of kit to use like you I highly reccommend.

    I will tell my son in law he spends most of a week end a way playing with his dish, no changed my mind it keeps him busy while I play with my lovely grandaughter.

    Have just moved my caravan to Snowdonia area of Wales and previously used just an aerial to view my TV unfortunately this does not work on the site I am on and everyone seems to have a satellite dish, can anyone recommend a good freesat dish and receiver
    for this area, as there are numerous dishes on the market?
