mice!
We have just returned from 5 lovely days at the Sandringham site - our first trip this year. When we arrived and started setting up I opened various cupboards and drawers to put things away and discovered that we had had mice in our lovely new caravan (bought brand new last August). We had checked the van reguarly in storage throughout the winter but hadn't thought to do a thorough check in all the drawers and cupboards. Luckily there was no lasting damage - a few chewed dusters - but lots of droppings so it was a quick trip to the supermarket in Dersingham and a thorough clean with disinfectant and anti-bacterial cleaner. Before it goes back into storage we shall have to set some traps unfortunately but cannot take the risk that they might ruin the upholstery. Other than that we had a wonderful time in glorious sunshine. I love the Sandringham site.

Having been a professional pest controller for 24 years. A good quality bait or, my preference in a caravan is a trap as the mouse dies where you want it to die! Bait is designed to kill the mouse 2 - 3 days after eating a fatal dose, so they don't
assiciate the bait with the death, and by that time, it could have eaten its way into your lounge cushions as happened to me many years ago.!! The trap we use is sold under the trade name snapE. Through Wilkinsons or if you want to contact me , we can supply
them too. About £3 each Black plastic base with a yellow strike bar. (I have noticed other colours on the strike bar though) There is a small 'cup' in which you place the bait, my preference is crunchy peanut butter. They are a very easily set trap and just
pressing the action down until it locks is all that is required. Place several traps around your van if you have a problem with them getting in and you can't find where. Obviously, prevention is better than cure. Place them on plastic bags though if you cant
check it regularly for obvious reasons. Hope this is useful.0 -
Those plastic vent rings are very edible to a mouse so fit a very strong wire mesh over them instead & apply the same logic to any other holes in the floor

...Ken you're quite right I made bespoke covers for all gas drop holes in the floor and even in the nose locker area from small sized galvanised wiremesh which was fixed in place with either stainless steel staples or plastic cable ties as appropriate.
Only ever had the little blighters get in once and luckily no real damage other than the droppings a few chewed dusters.
