Using Dutch Caravan Club sites in Holland

We have just returned from 3 weeks touring Holland and Germany. On a site in Vierhuisen, North Holland we were told that we could use the area reserved for the Dutch Caravan Club at a discounted price as we are members of The Caravan Club!! It was even cheaper than using ACSI. The pitches were larger than the ordinary ones and the free WiFi reception was excellent.

We were not aware of this, but on reading through Caravan Europe 2, I found that it is possible although usually you have to pre-book through the Dutch Caravan Club headquarters.

So it is worth checking if the site in Holland is a Dutch Caravan Club site and asking if it is possible to use the special area.

Does not surprise me, we lived in Germany for a number of years, some 5 minutes from the Dutch boarder and were quite often the only ‘Brits’ on site, especially this time of the year and were quite often asked if we would like to join them.  Had some good
times, big caravanning nation and of course speak the same language – beer, wine and of course cheese.   Go as far and say friendlier than some sites been on over here!!
