A real staycation!

I really enjoy staying at Caravan Club main sites, and most of my visits each year are to these, but I do occasionally go to CLs and commercial sites. I recently changed my towcar, and wanted to be sure that everything was fine for a trip to the Cotswolds later this month. So, I looked for local sites to stay at, to check out everything. In the past I had used the Royal Norfolk Showground CC site, but this was closed about three years ago. I looked on the internet, and found 'Swans Harbour', which is nearly 10 miles from home(!) - so this visit could be called a Staycation! I can thoroughly recommend the site- well cared for grass areas and gravel hardstandings, with ehu, a super modern facilities block, kept very clean (for the cleaning time discussion, the cleaner was in between 6 and 7 am this morning!)- the facilities block is fully disabled friendly, with long lever taps, wide toilet stalls, showers and sink cubicles (which are curtained off as per CC main sites) underfloor heating, a sluice room, a washing up room complete with washing machine, dryer, fridge/freezer and microwave oven for those staying to use- information room, and you can choose your pitch (unlike most commercial sites). The owner lives off site, so you phone up when you arrive, and he comes to collect the fees and to see that you have all that you need. There is wifi for a reasonable fee.

The site is about 3 miles down country lanes off the A47 Norwich southern bypass, in pleasant countryside. Best of all, the site is open all year, and the per night fees are standard all year round- £10 per caravan pitch, £2 per adult, £1 per child (3 to 14), 50p for awning, £1 per visitor, £1 per extra car- so it cost me a reasonable £12 per night solo (I didn't take an awning), but a couple with an awning would only pay £14.50 (£7.25 per head), and a family of four an amazing £16.50 (£4.13 per head) - even in peak times! Unbeatable, when the standards and the organising are truly up to CC main sites standard.
