Postcard from the Seaside
We’re at the Seaside with our Grandsons, Ben (7) and Jamie(<2): they’ve also brought along their Mum & Dad, and the family pooch, Poppy. We’re in our motorhome and they’re in their 6- berth tent, all on the same pitch, at our favourite French campsite.</p>
As the beach and promenade are just 100 metres from the site, down a bamboo-lined path, we’re having plenty of beach sessions every morning and afternoon without the usual chore of lugging chairs, parasols, mats, inflatable boats, spare nappies and everything usually essential for spending a day on the sand.
The only one not enjoying the sea and sand is Poppy who spends much of her day in the cool darkness under our ‘van, emerging only in the evening. Dogs are not allowed on the beach so we take turns in popping back to ‘dog sit’.
Lots of swimming and bucket & spade work going on. Ben is a keen swimmer while Jamie favours the filling and emptying of his bucket at the waters’ edge. The ‘Brits’ on the beach are the only ones making decent sandcastles. Chas broke Jamie’s bucket while making a sand pie which caused a bit of temporary trouble until a substitute was obtained.
The weather is hot, sunny, sometimes cloudy, and a bit humid; however, as we’re wearing ‘cozzies’ most of the time that’s ok. (except poor old Poppy!). We’re here for just for 10 days, before the ‘boys’ head back to their home in the Savoie. We, on the other hand are setting off for Croatia with short stops at Lago d’Iseo, and then Aquilea. (It’s not the shortest route but being here is a great diversion).
If you want to know more about our campsite, please have look at our ‘Postcard from St Clair’ sent when we were here in June.
We hope you like our ‘Snaps’. Photos ok’d for web use by Mum & Dad,
