Arrivederci Roma
On the 1st of May we set off on a nine week trip to Italy passing through France, Germany and Austria en route. Our first stop in Italy was on a small lake not far from Trento. From here we made for one of our favourite Italian destinations, Venice. WE also visited the islands of Burano, Murano and Torcello. Moving south from Venice we stopped at Farrara and experienced an after shock from the earthquake of the day before, very scary. Our nest stop was Passignano on Lake Trasimeno which was a very pleasent location. Next to our main destination Camping Tiber in Rome which we found a very convenient base to visit the City. This was our turn round point and we headed north stopping off at both Mugello and Lake Garda, although Garda was very busy. From here we moved on to Natterersee which has a superb location surrounded by mountains. A couple more stops in Germany before crossing the border into France and a short stay in Metz. Two more stops and our nine weeks were up and it was time to go home.

What a fantastic travelogue David, one of our daughters has just texted to say she'd been roped together for a climb in the Dolomites, think I prefer your method of seeing Italy! Must stop armchair travelling and be a bit more adventurous, thanks for posting
