Have just returned from Trewethett site in Cornwall. True, the views are wonderfull from some pitches, not so wonderful from others. Here lies the problem. Registration at the site is 12 0-clock earliest. Campers are told to search site for a pitch and report back to wardens with details of pitch. You are advised to take a chair or similar object to leave on pitch to denote pitch is taken. The Germans with their beach towel would love this system. During our visit i witnessed campers arriving early and queing well before noon, some as early as 1030. They then march on site on foot carrying there chair or something suitable and claim a pitch. The system is wrong and open to cheating. I usually use small farm sites and will definately be staying away from large club sites in future. I am seriously considering my Caravan Club membership for next year.
