We have just visited this Caravan Club Affiliated Site for approx the 5th year only to find that the site has gone downhill very rapidly with not only a building site to look at over the Easter Break but the attitude of the Wardens and Owner were very poor to say the least.

The Adult's only area Shower block is being renovated (Started September 2015) although we were advised on arrival we were not advised how bad the area was (see attached Photo's) The Site was reported to be full from the Good Friday and we would have to use the Shared Toilet block although we did not have to wait at any time the shower that I used were cold to just warm.

On arrival at our plot we normally park close to the right hand side of the hard standing as we have a large diesel RV (left hand drive) so that we can get the full use of our Awning and area, only to be approached by someone in ordinary clothing (No Warden Shirt or badge) to be told "as your shunting about you can move to the centre of the pitch I need a fire break as we are going to be full" no explanation as to who he was or excuse me or thank you (Later found out his name was STEVE)

This did not set a very good tone to our stay

I later met STEVE  on the Friday after the first time I left the shower block the next morning and said "Excuse me I would just like to let you know that the shower I used was cold" his retort was " Don't tell me I'm not on duty" this is not the response we have received in the past for other Wardens on the site after, advising him that i didn't like his attitude i asked his name to which he replied "It's steve that's STEVE" which i found very condescending I then went into the Site Office to report the matter and was not met with any better attitude they told me that they would get Paul (The Owner) to see me, another set of wardens behind the counter replied "Don't blame me I've only been here three days"

Paul came to see use on the Sunday some two days after the event to ask if we had a problem I repeated my story to no reaction I then asked him to the side of my Motorhome and pointed to the building site of a shower block and asked "would you be happy to have paid over £110.00 for 4 night with a view of that?" to which his comment was "well it's over run!!!" I asked if he thought that the charges were excessive he said “well it's Caravan Club Prices” I asked if he thought that he should give everyone a discount due to the building site he did not comment

On the Sunday we had some friends call to see us (Owners on the dog we had taken)as we had arrange to have Sunday lunch at a very good local pub (The Plough) we travelled down in their car having collected us from the Site car park after a fantastic meal in a very well run family owned pub with staff who know how to look after customers we offered a coffee back at our motorhome before they left.

My wife and one of our friends came back via the village path route with the dog and we came back in the car to the site office we entered to sign in (Which I agree for H&S and Fire reasons) to be told “that’ll be a pound each visitor” this incensed me so much that I refused to listen to some form of explanation from the Warden and marched off our friends were also upset at the attitude of the site

All in All a very bad experience and based on our previous visits they have gone downhill rapidly I would not recommend to anyone until they change their attitude and Wardens (to more professional people)
