Picture Postcard from Cres
We’re at the end of our fourth visit to Cres. We will have been here at Camping Kovačine for 14 nights when we leave tomorrow for the neighbouring island of Krk. With 7 for the price of 6, CCI discount, and the deduction of our ferry fare one way, it has costs us £10.50 a night!
We’ve sent postcards from Cres before, the last being ‘Postcard from Cres 2013’, so rather than repeat ourselves, we’ll make this a ‘picture postcard’
September is a good time to be here as the weather is still good, and we managed to get a pitch not far back from the sea
And the promenade..
Along which you can cycle or walk to the town.
With its picturesque inner harbour
In the other direction, the path follows the shoreline to another cove, a pleasant afternoon stroll. But be aware, the path first takes you through the FKK section of the campsite (No photos!)
We’ve has a couple of days of strong southerly wind, which curiously drives the level of the Adriatic up by a couple of feet.
The wind soon died down at it was back to the beach where Cath has managed three swims a day, the first at 8 a.m.
The day time temperatures are still touching 30C but the evenings are getting a little chillier. The wind has come round to the North. Still, we’ve managed to dine al fresco every evening with a night out in town.
By the harbour
But now it’s time to say farewell to Cres.

Lovely photos. I was keen to learn what the weather was like. It has been very hot here, as high as 35 one day, but is now steady around 26/27 and still dry. Regards, Roy
