For many, many years I have wanted to visit Coventry Cathedral (the 'new one' designed by Basil Spence after the old one was destroyed in WW2).

I finally got round to it last week - I stayed on the Club Site at Warwick Race Course - I was almost overwhelmed. It is a magnificent building in every detail. Even if you aren't Cathedral fans it is well worth a visit as a piece of truly wonderful 'modern' architecture.

By the way Warwick is a nice town too and the site is just a convenient walk from the centre.

Glad you liked Coventry, I know it well there are also some lovely mediaeval buildings close by including St Marys Hall connected with Mary Queen of Scots. There is an excellent Art Gallery and Museum plus a Transport Museum with all the famous vehicles built in Coventry plus many more. But as you say the Cathedral is wonderful and Warwick is a great base to stay.

Yes Coventry Cathedral is magnificent.   What amazes me is the old buildings mentioned by brue that survived the bombing, incredible.  All truly amazing and moving.  I want to go back and do more, but haven't managed it yet.  The CC Warwick site is ideally
situated to explore a lovely part of the country.
