One year vanniversary

On Thursday May 8th 2014 we were presented (as part of a competition) with our first caravan, an Elddis Explore 574 which the girls affectionately named "Ellie". Having never been caravanners, that first night was a daunting experience for us, as Wayne from Derby Caravan Centre talked us through everything we needed to know - it all seemed a lot more complicated than putting up a tent, like we were used to! The challenge itself, to visit 20 Caravan Club sites in 20 weeks (and complete 100 tasks) was great fun and saw us becoming more and more confident with caravanning as well as having lots of fun!

A year on, and nine months into our year of ed-venture (http:/www.dotrythisathome.com) we are thoroughly enjoying the nomadic lifestyle. We have all learnt so much, visited some wonderful places and met some fantastic people. We've enjoyed the time that we're spending together as a family, exploring the country and getting outdoors more. As the end of the year approaches, we are now planning what the next stage of our ed-venture will be. Who knows... where we will be in a year from now?

Our vanniversary (a year since getting the caravan - not winning the caravan or even moving into it) was celebrated whilst staying in the Fort William Caravan Club site.
