for Karl Andree, the UK man caught with wine in his car in Saudi Arabia.

His family are protesting at part of his sentence saying “he’s a frail old man, had 3 types of cancer, he’s asthmatic, he’s got gout” therefore should not receive the lashes part of his sentence.

Now let me make one thing clear, I do not agree with corporal punishment in any form. It should not happen in any civilised country, however this man has lived and worked in Saudi Arabia for a long time so should be familiar with the penalties for possessing
alcohol. Indeed the UK government website warns of the severe penalties for possessing alcohol.

Should he have known better?
