Stories, how long is too long

So i'm pretty new to this stories bit. Done 3 now. BUT once i get started i can't seem to stop! I know long stories are boring, and short ones leave you thinking WTF? But what length, is a good length? I try to keep them interesting, but short. But always
end up going on and on and on! lol
