Is your towcar your main car, or a second car?
Just something i've wondered, with towcars generally needed to be larger and less economical. Is your towcar your main or only car, or do you have it as a second run around?
The mother in law used to have a V8 Discovery and used it daily, but as the price of fuel went up they brought a 1.4 Honda to use daily and use the Landrover for towing, and in the event a second car was needed. They've since changed the Disco for a more
economical 4x4 which gets used a little more often.
Our Volvo is much the same, although it is economical enough to use daily, our little Honda is more economical so that gets used most, and the Volvo gets used for caravaning, odd weekend visits and when we need to go different places. We also use it for
long distance stuff for it's comfort and the fact it's very economical over distance, it's also safer. Working the same shift at the same place helps use to keep to one car mostly. Limiting it's miles also keeps the insurance right down.
My sister also has her Delica tow vehicle as a second car with their Golf doing main dutys.
So what role does your tow car play?
