Hello toekneebee. I do not know how long you've been motorhoming so apologies for stating what you may already know.
Have a look on Out&About Live and Practical Motorhome. They will have Chausson reviews if not your exact model. With garage motorhomes - I have one - you have to be careful about what weight is allowed in the garage [mine is limited to 250kg], what is the rear axle limit [mine is 2000kg but I'm running at almost 1900kg]. You also have to be wary of the loading margin because some firms can be creative in their calculations.
If the garage is a 5/6 berth an over 7m long, then it is highly unlikely that it can stay within the 3500kg limit if used by a family. I have a 6m van and two of us equate to 3400kg in full touring trim. If the van you are looking at has been plated at 3850kg, it may be suitable for a family motorhome but you will need to have a C1 licence.
On a 2011 model, I'd be asking about service schedules, particularly when the cambelt change was/is due [depends on engine] and the age of the tyres - they may be more than 5 years old and need changing between 5 and 7 years even if the tread is legal.
I suggest you post on other motorhome forums such as Motorhome Matters to broaden the responses. If you do, be more specific about the van such as who will be using it and for what purpose, and its plated weights.
