Just read in a local paper that Eden District Council (Cumbria) is to issue a new policy on sites  licensing fees. A new licence for up to 5 pitches will cost £412 with another £80 for every additional 10 pirches. The authority has also introduced a new annual charge of £9 per pitch. Transfering a licence will cost £260, changing the current conditions will cost £196 and sites must leave a copy of site rules with the LA. The costs seem exhorbitant and if it applies to CLs, which it would seem from the numbers quoted, could well see many CLs closing.
