Is it legal to sleep on the highway?

We are visiting my sister in law in Hastings for one night next week. She hasn't got room for us to sleep in her house and it is the first day of 12 away in the motorhome.

She lives on a very wide quiet street with plenty of parking. The motorhome will be parked on the road during the day. Is there anything, legally, to stop us simply slipping into the motorhome to sleep on the road?

Obviously there are no "no overnighting" signs because it's a normal residential street.
