Best route to Meathop from Rotherham?

Hi all,

Can anyone recommed the best route to get to the Meathop site in Grange-Over-Sands from Rotherham please?

CC Route planner has the Woodhead pass, around Manchester, then up the M6. Other routes I'm considering are to Bradford then along the A65, or just doing the longer but hopefully simpler M1/A1, M62, M6.

I travel Thursday and tow a Sterling Europa 570 with a Honda CRV. I don't know whether to go longer and simpler, or take on a more challenging route. Any advice greatfully received!
