Repair help for a newbie!

Hi everyone -

I've 'acquired' a 1980s Avondale Perle with very little history (not stolen!) and decided to do my best to fix it up. I've tested it for damp and apart from the area immediately around the roof light, it's good - it looks like a previous owner did some
repairs at the front end, and they bodged the bunks around a bit too.

I have three questions, which I'm hoping you can help me with (please)!

1) I think I need to replace the board around the roof light, and reseal it. Is it possible to replace a relatively small area, or would I have to replace a whole panel? Where do I start, as I only want to rip out what I absolutely have to!

2) I was originally considering a total reseal, but the external rails (?) have totally rusted screws and I fear I could do more damage than I solve. Given that the van is dry, should I just leave this alone?

3) The door closes, but doesn't sit into the frame properly - any suggestions?

Thank you!
