Facebook - why?

I would be interest to see if there are any statistics available to indicate the percentage of people who use FB in relation to their age range. I would guess that this percentage goes down with age - meaning the older you get the less likely you are to use it. On that basis, perhaps it is a way of the Club reaching the 'younger' generation. Just a guess....

I wonder how many people have been burgled just because they posted something on facebook??
Thieves used to go by the wedding and funeral notices in the local paper.

Thieves can use numerous aids available on the internet. Those videos posted on estate agents pages not only give a feel for the house but often show the contents too. Google satelite view is handy to take a look at the best entry points on the property
and social media sites often give information an who is away from home.0 -

Write your comments here...I have to agree. Facebook is known as the Granny's favourite. . Younger people use the many other social media alternatives.

Facebook is used by all ages - Every single one of the students I currently work with has a facebook account - this is the norm, to have one who isnt on FB is unusual. They are mostly 16-19 year olds but they range from 14 to 52 this year.
It is a useful tool for getting information from a wider range of people than you would usually meet in a personal context, and you just filter out the drivel and notifications.

I enjoy Facebook..having friends living in various other parts of the country and world...I love seeing the photos they post. I'm also a member of some private groups...an old hospital where I used to work and a VW group, so we often arrange meets via Facebook.
As for the drivel...it just gets discarded.0
