"Old" tyres on brand new caravan!
If you purchase a new car and check the age of the tyre, it is normally less than 6 months old since manufacture. However on a spanking brand new caravan the tyres can be 2 - 3 years old. Our 2011 Lunar has tyres fitted that were manufactured in 2009 so
already two years old by the time we took delivery!
When caravan related magazines review caravans, why is there no mention of the age of the tyre as it is perfectly visible on the wall of the tyre without having to remove the tyre itself. Surely that should score a few negative points.
it makes you wonder what the reaction would be if you went to purchase a brand new 2014 caravan and at hand over next month you discovered that the tyres were already over 2 years old and insisted that be replaced?
Could you insist that newer tyres be fitted as basically you are losing 2 years off the recommended life of the tyre?
