Much Wenlock CC site - a CL really?

Made a last minute reservation here (literally on my way out) to visit the Ironbridge Heritage area in my motorhome. My first visit to a CC site as I normally use CL's.

Lovely site, easy entry and good site roads, well laid out, neat and with a profusion of hanging baskets, herbs and flowers. Pleasant wardens too, but very surprised to find there weren't  showers or W.C's or washing up facilities. And at £12 a night? Yes, I know that's stated on the website but I never imagined that the club would go to the considerable expense of setting up a site without these facilities. Especially since I passed two CL's in the 2.5 miles on the same road between the village of Much Wenlock and this CC site which I would have chosen except that I was in a rush and a CC site was quicker to find in the guide. Often CL owners aren't contactable during the day which is o.k. if leaving a message for them to ring back is convenient.

I paid for two nights but only stayed one as there seemed little point in delaying my 220 mile homeward drive and hanging around for another night when I could get going at 6 p.m. and stop for a kip in a layby or a meal en route if necessary.

Not complaining; I must read site details more carefully, but it seemed bizarre that the club went to the expense of setting up up a site with wardens etc, having similar facilities to a basic CL but which would cost far less than half the CC site charge.

Are there many club sites like this?

 Confused of Course.
