Nearly a catastrophe

So, I got my new motor mover fitted on Friday (primarily so that I can get the van into the drive nose-first) and Saturday saw me bringing it in for the first time.   Brought the van in; offside nice and tight up to the hedge (now that I no longer need to
leave a gap on that side for the access to the door like I did when I reversed in); everything positioned perfectly; very happy; lovely jubbly.   So then I pressed the button to disengage the rollers and waited for something to happen.  It did!   Before I
knew it the van had set off back across the drive gathering speed as it approached the trailer, the shed, the wheelie-bins and a telegraph pole.  Fortunately I was able to chase after it and (belatedly) pull the handbrake on.  The caravan came to a halt with
a skid and about 8 feet to spare.   The handset now has a sticker on it to remind me about he handbrake!!

Please tell me I'm not the only person who has ever done this? Embarassed
