just before a parish council meeting they noticed a large amount of caravans / travellers approaching the green field.  They flew into action by blocking there way forming a human train , yes they could have been hurt but at the end of the day police would have taken forever to get there if at all. and proberly would have let them all pitch up   Telling the village to go to a magistrate Surprised

well done to all of you I say Smile

The other side of the city where I live have had very many problems and great cost to local authority as well for the clean up, they pitched up at the sports village car park last week , and the lads start training for Olympics at the velodrome shortly ,
they are a dam pain and the law regarding them should be changed , they killed and ate 3 swans last year heard nothing after there arrest and if they even bothered to take them to court Yell

Used to be travellers on a large park near Ardwick, Manchester as I travelled to work.  When they eventually left, the mess was awful.  So the city council put up a large mound of earth right along the edge of the park, high enough (about 2ft high) to stop
them getting on.  They then planted the mound with spring bulbs and bushes - looks lovely and no travellers

Ps In their words "its not us that leave a mess when people know we are here they just dump everything and we get the blame"Surprised

They had taken over the public pay and display carpark just outside the Tewkesbury CC site a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully they will have moved on, and their mess been removed, by now.

Do CC club sites attract them ? When we were at Tredegar a few years back, there had been a problem with travellers camped adjacent to the CC site.

we live a couple miles from  Tredegar site and the travellers were a pain there , caused alit of damage and upset , a number of there horses apparently got onto the actual  site caused damage , the site was having to lock the gates to the entrence very early
evening to help keep sit secure , itredegar house and grounds has since been taken over by NT now don't think it's happened since
