after reading and hearing about the bull fighter who has lost his life in the bull ring , I must admit I'm numb even though a human as lost his life
Surprisedit was to an innocent animal who I believe was being cruelly goaded and still feel for the bull who didn't get a Choice in playing
in this very cruel pastime in the name of sport , should be banned just like animals used in circus was dog fighting and many more , so I feel no remorse he new what he was doing and had a choice Yell

If you play with fire you might get burned , it seems bull fights are engrained in the Spanish psyche, a bit like fox hunting is here... Oh hang on. ...

It's kill or be kiled in a Spanish Bull Ring.  It doesn't always favour the side with all the advantages.- I think Bull fighting is barbaric - Akin to Bear Baiting.--- But the Spanish seem to like it, so who are we to demand they ban it...

We could always cross off Spain as a holiday destination - a drop in tourism revenue might focus their minds.

    Cool

Different contries have different attitudes and customs. Its not for us to interfere and impose our likes. THats what has gone wong in the Arab countries when we the "Westerners" wanted them to be like us in their customs and  democracies.

Write your comments here...But Spain is not a third world country. Fisherman.

As I said, we all have a choice, if we don't agree with the barbarity of bull-fighting give Spain a huge body swerve when next deciding  our holiday destination.

A lot of Spanish bullfighting has stopped or changed in that the bull is not killed or horses badly injured. However having lived in Spain I have seen these bulls which are bred especially for fighting and they are pretty awsome creatures who fight naturally with other bulls. Where I lived in Spain there were two local people killed in the village by bulls during the village bull running session where the bull is loose and free to protect itself. I suppose it is like any blood sport you either like it or as people say stay away. The animals you should really feel sorry for are the horses which are often gord by the bulls horns and they definately don't want to be there. I personally don't like killing things for the sake of it but I like meat so I cannot really say anything as some of the ways of killing for food is not nice either

It gets worse as, apparently, there is a ritual where the mother of the 'offending' bull is destroyed to kill off the bloodline.

It's gratuitous cruelty for the sake of entertainment. Sometimes I think of the warmth of Spain and old Spanish family friends we knew in Barcelona but it doesn't have much appeal. When we have better welfare for people and animals here and elsewhere, the
world will be a better place.

Its not sport , its not entertainment , its sheer slaughter of a frightened, defenceless animal  by a number of a armed men for a load of money.

Being a part of the EU should have put an end to this barbarism , Hunting animals for sport is a cruel pastime at best  morever it shows a sadistic trait .

Like fox hunting this bull fighting is equaly abhorrent. Death to the creature just for the 'pleasure' of the cruel humans inflicting this. It's just not right!

    Entertainment? Get real Spain!

We'd never attend one of those events or swim with dolphins or have my photo taken with a monkey or parrot etc.
