The law in France/Switzerland re: tyres in winter

I am planning my trip to Switzerland in January and have purchased snow chains for my Michelin Camping Tyres. I note that new Camping Tyres have the M+ S stamp on them, on the  side wall. My ones do not. Can someone advise me of the law in both countries
regarding tyre types please.
