Touring Scotland

I'm thinking of spending 6 weeks or so touring Scotland next June/July probably going up the West Coast, across the top and travelling back down the Eastern side. I enjoy fishing, golf and walking the dog. Any suggestions as to places to visit, sites to
stay at etc. would be much appreciated.
