Choosing a 2 berth caravan

Hi, I am a "returning" caravaner.  In the 70's and 80's we were raising a family and went caravaning frequently, including ski holidays. Now, it's just my wife and I and we are planning to return to the fold.  I think things must have changed a lot. Any
advice on choosing a caravan?  We are looking for high quality and will probably buy new or a year or two old. Tow car is a BMW 2.5i (petrol) 2004.

Any advice welcome.
