Hi All.

our fridge when loading up in storage, works fine on 12v and if you turn to gas flashes if trying to light. Once hooked up on site, nothing works on it ie gas nor electricity, no lights flash, nothing.

Then half a day later, it comes back on to 240?

Had it service yesterday and the engineer was beaten after 3hours of trying (he is looking into it).

He says the fridge is working just something stopping switchover.

A new control panel is £140 but it may not be that?

A new fridge is around £700

the caravan is an 04senator vermont , the fridge a RM 7291 L MODEL.

Answers please?

cheers

I know this might be a long shot, but one friend had a similar problem with his fridge- and found that the plug (230V) it had been installed to behind the fridge had worked its way out of the socket- but intermitently it would vibrate back in enough to work...
Pushing it home properly worked well!

On another occasion, the master switch for the fridge on 230V was behind the microwave, and this was knocked by the microwave into the off position. So worth at the very least, that 230V is actually making its way to the fridge, before splashing out on potentially
    expensive repairs...

Try sending an e mail to domestic direct and their technical department may be able to point you in the right direction.

When I had problems with our fridge asked workshop staff at local dealership who gave us domestic engineers mobile might be worth a try

We had problems with our Dometic fridge while we away this summer.  First thing was to change the fuse in the fuse box and it worked for the next site then stopped again.  Second, was to change the fuse in the fridge plug with success for another site until
it stopped again. Third solution was to give everything a good wiggle and it's now been fine for the last three expeditions.  You can tell I am well versed in all things electrical!
