Truma heating system confusion!

Hi all, I’m new to Caravanning and just bought myself a Bailey Pageant Champagne 2005. We took it on our first trip last weekend and it was a total nightmare to be honest! Things I got wrong: Hose length too short, electrical lead too short, couldn’t engage
the motor mover properly, didn’t fill the tank up before taking a shower….oh and the charger unit blew up when I managed to connect the electrics (all under warrantee don’t worry).

Anyway, live and learn but my question is to you experts is this; regarding the Truma water heating system on 230V, can someone explain what the “done thing” is here. I’m confused as to why my Mrs had a cold shower when the tank was full of water and the
heating had been on a good 8 hours at 70 and explain why I had a lovely hot shower, water ran out (when I was all soaped up), filled the tank and then continued to have a hot shower after refilling it. I don’t get it.

Also just general newbie tips in regards to what you guys usually do.

Thanks in advance.
