Sticky awning curtain tracks

Does anyone have any tips for making it easier to slide awning curtains along the plastic tracks that are commeonly fitted.  We have a new (last year) Dorema and it is a real pain to open and shut the curtains, to the point where it is easier sometimes to
just unclip them and re-attach.
