Green Flag MAYDAY renewal issues...

My MAYDAY membership falls due for renewal on 28th March.  A renewal letter was sent out dated 5th March which only arrived on 25th March.  For various reasons I couldn't deal with it straight away, but on 27th I 'phoned GF to renew, only to be told that
their card payment system was down.  As requested I tried again this morning, but the payment system is still down.

As the policy expires today I was naturally concerned about loss of cover, but GF, to their credit, have extended cover by 7 days to allow time for payment when the system is restored, and presumably for the large backlog that will have built up to be cleared.

Regarding the late arrival of my renewal reminder I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this, as I cannot tell whether this was due to the letter being sent far later than dated, or whether it is due to delay in the post.  GF say it would have been
sent out in good time, but they would say that, wouldn't they?
