The Lakes and Dales...Where to Go?

You know when you come back from somewhere new and a friend says "Did you go to"..... or "Did you visit..." and the disappointing answer is always No because I didn't know it was there...

Well readers, this is where you step in.

  We're off to visit the Yorkshire Dales in the Spring but not having been to that area before haven't a clue where to go.

We're looking for dramatic views, typical touristy spots. Not to keen on Stately Homes or gardens though.
