Powrtouch mover

I've got a 'Powrtouch plus' caravan mover but recently it's been playing up, the remote is a bit hit and miss. I've replaced the 9v battery but its still the same. It's as though the signal from the remote is too week - any suggestions? - its about 6 years
old.
