I live in Ripon North Yorkshire and I often think driving around it that wouldn't it be good if people like me with local knowledge of a particular town and an understanding of what motorhome users are looking for when they go to a new area passed this knowledge
on to potential CC visitors .

I can understand people not wanting to give up their hard earnt secrets re their favourite sites (although Im suprised how many do) But I know it takes several visits to a particular area before you build up a knowledge of safe parking,a nice cafe ,decent
chinese or even wild camping sites.

Anyone thinking of coming coming off the A1 at Boroughbridge then heading towards Ripon can Park for free on the concrete car park on the left just after going over the river Ure at the racecourse .Its a lovely walk (about a mile) then across the front of
the racecourse following the canal into the city.

For those not as fit there is parking just over the by pass along the roadside past the plumb centre next to the canal (especially at weekend)

I,m sure the local shop keepers would appreciate me telling members that the 100 stall market is held every Thursday and there are plenty of other shops and attractions to keep you here with free parking at Fountains Abbey for NT members a few miles away.

I do not have a business interest just a knowledge of how difficult it can be visiting an area for the first time.

All I ask is don,t all come at once and don't park across my drive please :)
