We are complete newbies to Motorhomeing. We have just bought a Hymer which we love, can someone tell me what we need when it says TV booster.

Welcome to the world of motorhomeing.  I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.  If you could give us a bit more information about what says TV booster, then someone will probably be able to give you an answer.

First of all what are you trying to do. If you are fitting an ariel then you may need a boaster to make the signal stronger in some parts of the country. As you move around you will find that you also have to re-tune the TV to local stations.

If you use something like a Snipe Megasat then you will be picking up TV Stations from a Satalite that is in a stationery orbit and beaming signals down. This is FreeSat. The nice thing about this system is you don't have to keep re-tuning the Tv everytime you stop. It is also automatic and locks on to a Satalite in about 30 Seconds.

If you already have an ariel what sort is it and where is it mounted.

Also have a look at www.wildcamping.co.uk .. Great bunch with a number of women as well. Loads of info on places to stop and places not to bother with. Loads of info on France as well. You don't have to join but if you do there are lists of Taps, Accessable Toilets and Stop Over Locations.

You don't have to use Camp Sites with a Motor Home.

If you are talking about what is on sites ,it means the site has a boosted tv signal that is normally via the EHU bollard and a 25mtr coax cable that are normally available from the site office ,that you plug into the bollard and into the back of your tv
