Caravan parking bays at service stations
Returning from holiday recently I tried to park in a caravan parking bay at the service station. As normal all the designated bays were taken up by either cars or vans. As I needed to rest I parked alongside the cars to the ‘ death looks ‘ of the drivers
parked in the caravan bays. In the past I contacted the managing director of one service station provider who gave me his Deputy’s telephone number to ring the next time I used one of their stations and he would arrange a parking spot for me if I rang in
advance. I wonder if he would mind if I passed the number on to the thousands of club members so they could also take advantage of my privileged number!!!!
Seriously though I do feel not being able to take breaks because of car drivers taking the caravan bays is extremely dangerous as tired drivers are ‘an accident waiting to happen’. Maybe the caravan club should make representations to the authorities on
our behalf and get the areas policed properly moving the offending drivers
