Fitting tv aerial pole to van ladder

I've bought an aerial for my old van. This has a bracket to fit it on a pole. I'm doing things on a cheap budget and don't want a permanent aerial fitted to my old van. I have a suitable pole, but how can I fix the pole to the ladder on the back doors of
my van? Someone directed me towards 2 or 3 x vision plus brackets but at a tenner each this is too much for fittings. Please advise. Thanks.

Bit rough and ready but you could consider a couple of lashings. All that Boy Scout knotwork and raft building experience to draw on. Wink

Would it be possible to fit it to the jockey wheel instead?

We use this type of clamp, there are many sizes, for all sorts of temporary fixings!

It all depends how temporary you want it!?

Van across from me is using a bit of bungee wound round the pole and jockey wheel. It sports the most substantial domestic type TV aerial I've ever seen. I am assuming his flying saucer on the van roof is defunct.

Powerfix do cable ties that undo easily (did I see them on Dragons Den or like?). They are really usefull I have just put up a gazebo single handedly and they were invaluable to hold the bits together before ready for the bolts Especially as it is just about past its sell by date and a little bent in places!

I wouldn't be without bungee straps either.

I have a couple of these: /www.roadpro.co.uk/product/01b04-aerial-mounting-installation-products/u-clamp-pole-mounting-bracket-d1706/D1706 - going spare. Would post to you but there doesn't to be any private message facility on the forum to give address
details. See you're Cumbria, I will be in the Lake District  in October!
