Insurance cancellation charge after sale of MH

Can anyone advise please..............

I sold my motorhome earlier this week, in order to downsize to a caravan. I immediately informed my insurance company  (who are The Insurance Factory who are shockingly bad and I would advise people to stay away from like the plague). Today, I recieved a
letter informing me that I had to pay £208.91 as a cancellation fee!!!  When I rang they said that I had agreed to pay this, but I never recieved any document which I signed. I did pay by direct debit each month, so cannot see how I can be expected to pay
for insurance; breakdown cover and legal protection on a vehicle I no longer own. Any advice would be very welcome.
