Providing registration details prior to selling

Hi we have been offered a price for our motor home but the purchaser has not yet viewed the vehicle. They are coming up to view next week but want to complete an HPI check. They have asked be to provide the VIN No, V5 registration number and V5 Issue Date.
Does anyone know if this is ok to provide or is it some sort of scam? Many thanks.
