Strange tasting water.....

The water from my 'fresh' tank has taken on a nutty/woody taste. Consequently we have started using bottled water for cooking and drinking - which gets rather expensive.

Does anyone have any ideas how this has happened and what I can do to correct it?

Any suggestions gratefully received.
