....the RL has a rear lounge with fixed back panel and a 'boot' with lid....

....the RD has the same internal layout but with a pair of (cheaper?) rear doors that open out.....

After 7 trouble free years with a Citroen Relay SWB conversion, I opted for the Devon Aztec MWB on a Citroen Relay van, upgraded to the same spec as a Fiat Ducato. Six months on I can only give positive feedback. The van drives like a dream and good fuel
consumption. It can also just squeeze into a normal sized parking bay. The Devon conversion is of a good quality. Excellent upholstery in a choice of colours and solidly built furniture. The washroom is compact but adequate, plenty of kitchen space and reasonable
storage space. The only things that were skimped on was the flooring as the wood effect finish was cold to the feet but easily sorted with a couple of mats and the owners manual was not great but just about covered all of the essentials.

Max length I could choose was 5.5 metres due to access at home and the budget was limited as well. The major plus was that by having the fridge behind the drivers seat, as opposed to a wardrobe, the drivers seat could be pushed further back to give a more
comfortable driving position if you are 6ft + tall. There is also a several month waiting list for Devon conversions.

I hope that you manage to find a van that suits your needs and your pocket and that you have many happy times in it.

My parents have a Murvi Pimento and they are very happy with it (bought at the NEC). They did a lot of research beforehand (visiting a lot of the outdoor motorhome shows as well as the NEC) as they wanted to find a motorhome that offers high quality with
comforts but at the same time, as they want to tour a lot in the UK and Europe and are very keen walkers, they wanted something smaller to more easily navigate mountain roads and country lanes. Me and my husband drove them to Plymouth to pick up the motorhome
back in 2013 and the service was superb.

I did write about this in Your Stories:

    Choosing a New Motorhome

The Spring Caravan & Motorhome Show

    The August Bank Holiday Weekend

I will forward this discussion to my folks to see if they have any advice or feedback to share.

That's very kind of you Rowena and any feedback from your parents would be most welcome. Unfortunately we live miles away from the factory so can't just pop over there. I assume since owning their van they haven't had any problems? Can't wait to see one
    in the flesh.

I was round my parents for Sunday lunch so asked them for their advice. They've had no issues at all with their Murvi Pimento and found the service really good. Rex, who they dealt with at Murvi, keeps in touch and is extremely helpful. They have the Fiat
Ducato model. With regards to size, they find it perfectly adequate for the 2 of them. The motorhome has everything you would get with a larger model such as kitchen and washroom with toilet and shower, the only thing you lack is storage. They use a utility
tent, which only takes 10 minutes to put up and then they can use as this as additional storage and can leave at the pitch when they are out and about, giving them more living room in the motorhome. They find the size of the motorhome ideal for them as they
are trying to tour all over the country, small lanes and tight spots are easier to navigate than a larger vehicle. Plus parking is easier too.

They're going to have to make a little more room though as they now have a Grandchild on the way and I'm sure he's going to love outings with his Grandparents in the motorhome!! Smile

If you have any specific questions please let me know and I will ask them. Good luck with your research and keep us updated with how you get on.

Thankyou so much Rowena. That is very helpful. I have arranged to meet Rex later on in Feb at the NEC. He seems very helpful. On one hand I think Pimento. Shorter and sweet. On the other it is Morello. More storage but more parking issues. Still, as it the
only thing we have to worry about we are not complaining !!!!! It would be interesting to know though that if your mum and dad were to choose again, would they still choose the Pimento? If you would ask them it would be appreciated. Kindest regards. Paul and
    Pat.
