I've posted about this charity before - it uses volunteers to walk dogs (or care for other pets) for elderly or ill folk so that they can continue enjoying the companionship of a pet. I've just finished a stint walking two dogs for an elderly lady in th
area who fell and badly sprained both wrists. It's a very rewarding experience for anyone who enjoys animals and they often need volunteers in different parts of the country, so worth looking at if you think you may be able to offer help.
