OK, I know it'as not the done thing to recommend a C&CC site, but on our way up to Troutbeck Head we spent two nights at Delamere Forest C&CC site. Not an area we'd normally visit but it was a very pleasant surprise. The site itself is great, right in the middle of the forest so lots of scope for walking. The best one we found went direct from the site up Old Pole Hill where there is a standing stone circle showing the 7 counties you can see from the viewpoint, plus 30 or so extra points of interest. Spectacular to say the least! If you're ever in that part of the world, it's certainly worth stopping off for a couple of days. Happy. Use left and right arrows to navigate.
