Well it must be August and CT has it's own Silly Season again. We get a load of folk coming on complaining that they can't book CC sites for a full week because weekends are full and it's not fair on those wanting weeks or fortnights (whinge, whinge, whinge) although why anyone would leave it this late to book a week at a CC site or be surprised that they're full a weekends are mysteries to me. Then we get another bunch come on complaining that CC sites are overpriced, poor value, acking in facilities and you can get much better deals at commercial sites (whinge, whinge, whinge).

Which leaves me wondering why the first lot don't take notice of the second lot and look elsewhere?

It's all a matter of personal choice of course, but could it be that CC sites are actually attracive to many people? They offer basic facilities and are relatively relaxed even at peak times. You don't have to feel that you need to patronise the overpriced bar/restaurant or make use of the heated swimming pool to feel you're getting your money's worth? They must be doing something right though because they're certainly busy enough.

Before anyone says I'm one of the "all things CC are perfect" brigade I have to say that we've only used a couple of club sites this year for a variety of reasons (and one more next weekend to make use of site night vouchers) but given the choice in a particular area we know which we'd go for!
