If, like us, you speed though this area on your way up to the lakes or over to North Wales or down south, think again! We recently spent 3 nights at Drake Farm CL near Clitheroe and the area was a revelation. Great walks, wonderful views, fantastic village
pubs BUT none of the heaving crowds you get in the more famous tourist hotspots. We climbed Pendle Hill and did a long walk up the valley from Dunsop Bridge where there is a telephone boxe specially sited at the geographical centre of the British Isles. We
wished we'd booked for longer and will certainly return for a main stay next year!
