Status Directional 550 or 560

Hi all, we have the mushroom type on our caravan at the moment. We are toying with the idea of a Status directional. I have been looking online, some reports say the wiring is very bad on them. 

What is the difference between the 550 and 560?

Will i have to change the vision amplifier in the caravan?

Is it worth paying out to change it

Any advise welcome!
