LED Lighting - WOW!
When at the show in February, I happened across a stall that I had been interested in the year before and done nothing about it. It was a guy selling nothing but LED lighting for vans , M/H's etc. I eventually bought a 5 metre strip of double Bright White LEDS with double sided tape attached. I was lucky in a way as he had run out of the singles and was selling the doubles at the same price. All they needed was a 12 volt feed which I duly sorted by fitting a cigarette lighter socket just above and to the side of where the EHU goes in, therefore keeping it all the electrics in the same place. It was easy then just to attach the feed to the battery and I picked up neutral from the mover cable installed nearby. Anyway, enough of that. I wasn't that excited about the result but thought anything had to be better than relying on the LED lighting above the door of the caravan!
Last week, we went away for the first time and when the awning was up, I attached the strip of LED's with reusable plastic garden ties from Homebase which did a good and neat job to the awning roof poles and did not remove the backing paper from the double sided tape, and when darkness was upon us I thought I had better nip into the awning and see what they were like. WOW! I could not believe the amount of light they gave. It was incredible! Just like turning a 240v light on. Definately one of my better buys! If you spend time in your awning in the evening I would recommend them to anyone.
