You know, I had never been to a Rally before in all the years I have been caravanning. It was probably down to the fact that we never seemed to have time , or it isn't the OH thing, or we could never organise ourselves or......blah blah blah.

Well, I ventured to Belvoir Castle (by myself) and pitched up on red D1510 in the pouring rain interspersed with hail. I did the basics so that the van would support human life and then sat there staring out of the window wondering what the hell I had done.  Mud everywhere, Motor Homes and the odd caravan refusing their owners requests to just try and get onto their pitches, - what was in store this weekend.???  Later that day it stopped raining. On the Saturday morning I opened the blinds to be greeted by fabulous sunshine and blue skies. That's when the fun started. From that moment on. for 3 days, I had a ball. The organisation that goes into a National is something to behold. Everything had been thought of, the entertainment was exceptional and it was just that feeling of 'belonging' that I loved. Talking to strangers was no hardship, everyone was so friendly and helpful from the first too the last. In my humble way, through the pages of CT, I would like to expess my heartfelt thanks to the management, staff, helpers, volunteers and whoever else was reponsible for making mine and many others weekend a very special time. Well done CC. This is a great club to belong to.
