That little job in retirement!

Having retired from my business last January, I have spent some extremely happy times in the van with trips literally North (Edinburgh) South (Devon and Dorset), East (Cromer) and West (Pembrokeshire).  The house has had some much needed work done on it
and all in all, I haven't been bored once. And I was perfectly happy to stay that way until a friend asked, as I was ex police, if I would be interested in driving an ambulance car (fully marked up (complete with blue lights and sirens) to transport specialist
nurses in organ donation. I said I would have a look at it but I only wanted to work 2 days max a week because of other 'commitments' (caravan!) It just goes to show that you never know what is round the bend in life. I absolutely love this job. I can work
as much as I like at the moment or I can have my 2 days. The nurse is picked up (that's a the only time I've seen picked a nurse up!) from wherever in my area and transported to a hospital where the ongoing business of organ retrieval gets underway. It's great
and so satisfying to know that I am a link in the chain that could lead to someone getting an organ that saves their life - how great is that? So at the moment I'll stash that idea of a lollipop!
